With Acquati Group, a dedicated operational structure has been established that integrates expertise and technologies to support the development of industrial applications across EMEA markets.
A new operational structure for international markets
In the field of precision industrial measurement, application experience and technological expertise often represent the true distinguishing factors. It is on this foundation that burster Italia has developed its activities over time. Founded in the early 1990s by Alberto Acquati, the company has become the exclusive partner for the Italian market for solutions developed by the German manufacturer burster. From the outset, the company has focused its activities on precision electrical resistance measurement, with particular specialization in low-resistance measurement. This expertise has led to the development of numerous measurement solutions using load cells and torque sensors, with applications ranging from R&D and laboratory environments to integrated solutions in automated production systems for production control. This technological offering is complemented by technical and application support, assisting customers from instrument selection through commissioning. Over time, collaborations have also been established with international manufacturers of advanced technologies, including the partnership with Coretec Japan for nutrunner systems (torque/angle) and servopresses (force/displacement) for the European market. Building on this body of expertise, a new phase of development in now underway. Acquati Group introduces a new operational structure to support growth in international markets, integrating measurement technologies and advanced technical services dedicated to process control applications across the EMEA region.

What market requirements and strategic considerations led to the creation of Acquati Group?
«The creation of Acquati Group – says Alberto Acquati – represents the natural evolution of a path that began more than thirty years ago in the field of measurement instrumentation. From the very beginning, our activity has focused on the distribution of technologies developed in countries with a strong industrial tradition, such as Germany, the United States, Japan and France, always accompanied by direct technical support for customers. In 1993, we launched our business in partnership with the German manufacturer burster, which specializes in sensors and instruments for mechanical and electrical measurement. Over time, we have developed highly specialised expertise, including in process control, particularly in high-precision mechanical measurement. Our solutions now range from portable instruments to systems integrated into automated production lines. In recent years, however, we realized that the experience accumulated could be leveraged on a broader scale. The creation of Acquati Group responds precisely to this need: to establish a structure capable of engaging more directly with international markets and developing new industrial collaborations, while maintaining continuity with the expertise built over more than three decades of activity».

What elements define the positioning of the new group in the sector of measurement and process control solutions?
«Our positioning – Acquati continues – is based on a very simple principle: the quality of the instrument must be accompanied by concrete technical support. From the beginning, we sought to offer customers not only a product, but also the expertise required to use it as effectively as possible. The applications we address fall into three areas: research and development, laboratories and production lines. In production environments the central focus is process control, while in laboratories and development activities the key factors are measurement precision, reliability and the ability to interpret data correctly».
Within this context, the collaboration with Coretec Japan, active since 2008 across the EMEA region, also plays a strategic role. This partnership enables the company to complement its expertise in measurement with technologies dedicated to fastening and assembly processes, including servo presses and nutrunner systems, providing customers with application support that ranges from product selection through to production start-up.
What are the main challenges you foresee in the group’s development path?
«The first challenge – Federico Acquati, business development executive, notes – is certainly to expand our presence in European markets. In Italy we have built a strong network of relationships over the years, whereas in foreign markets we must develop a more structured commercial organization capable of collaborating with local partners and providing direct support to customers. Another important factor concerns the industrial context, which has changed significantly in recent years. The automotive sector, which represents a significant share of process control applications, is undergoing a transformation driven by technological evolution and changing production models. This requires companies throughout the supply chain to diversify their markets and identify new application opportunities. Finally, there is the continuous innovation goal. Even for a company primarily involved in the distribution of technologies, it is important to develop integration between measurement instruments and electronics in order to offer more complete solutions tailored to customers’ specific needs».
What are the growth objectives for the coming years?
«Our objective – Acquati concludes – is to strengthen the presence of Acquati Group across the EMEA region, consolidating the company’s role as a technical reference point for Coretec Japan technologies dedicated to process control, particularly servo presses and nutrunners. We are also working to build a network of collaboration with partners and distributors in several European countries, in order to ensure broader market coverage and direct support for end-user companies. To support this growth, we have invested in a industrial area of approximately 750 sqm that will be dedicated to logistics, assembly and equipment testing. The facility will include a workshop and a laboratory for testing servo presses and nutrunners and will enable us to strengthen activities related to technical verification, calibration and application support. Alongside commercial expansion, we also aim to develop new technological synergies between measurement instruments, sensors and control electronics. The objective is to combine different areas of expertise in order to create integrated solutions capable of delivering greater application value to our customers».
Thanks to the long lasting partnership between Acquati Group and Coretec Japan, the tools achieve Class A rating (according to ISO 5393) with a Total Gage R&R (%GRR) ≤ 3% well below the 10% benchmark, indicating extremely high-precision and extremely high-precision tools. Among the new nutrunners is the compact “CUBE” series, with torque ranges starting from 0.25 Nm. The distinguishing features of these tools are their compactness with high torque density and their high reliability. Recent orders in Europe include a major application of screwdrivers, integrated into robotic pick & place systems, supplied to a major Japanese automotive OEM for its plant in Hungary.
