Zeekr enters the Italian electric vehicle market with a clearly structured, technically driven proposition that targets the premium segment while leveraging Geely Auto Group’s scalable battery-electric architectures and Jameel Motors’ distribution capabilities.
Positioned between established European OEMs and newer Chinese entrants, the brand’s launch in Italy offers a concrete example of how global EV platforms are being localized in one of Europe’s most mature and demanding automotive environments.
Italy is framed as a strategic step in Zeekr’s broader European expansion, following its rollout in Northern and Central Europe. The company highlights a context of rising demand for premium EVs and a steady improvement in charging infrastructure, which together create conditions that are increasingly favorable to higher-end battery-electric products. Rather than developing a fully owned commercial structure, Zeekr is entering the market through a partnership with Jameel Motors Italia, a distributor with more than 80 years of automotive experience and presence in over ten countries. This collaborative model suggests a capital‑efficient, fast‑track go‑to‑market strategy that relies on an experienced local operator to manage regulatory, retail and aftersales complexity.
From a technical perspective, all Zeekr vehicles offered in Italy are based on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), a dedicated, modular BEV platform designed to support multiple body styles and use cases. The Italian range covers a broad spectrum of applications: the fully electric mid-size SUV Zeekr 7X, the Zeekr 001 shooting brake with a focus on dynamic performance and practicality, the compact SUV Zeekr X for urban and peri‑urban usage, and the new Zeekr 7GT positioned as a long‑distance, grand‑touring solution. All models are designed at the brand’s Global Design Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, aligning styling, ergonomics and perceived quality with European expectations while exploiting the industrial scale and integration of the wider Geely ecosystem.
Commercially, the brand will rely on a nationwide network of dedicated showrooms and touchpoints managed by Jameel Motors Italia, with first deliveries planned for spring 2026. The distribution model is conceived around the entire customer journey, from vehicle discovery and configuration to aftersales and service, with a view to delivering a consistent premium experience across physical and digital channels.
