Now more than ever, innovation is crucial. It strengthens competitiveness and supports quality and the proposal of new, increasingly advanced solutions. In a complex and highly unpredictable global landscape, the decision to invest in research and development can make the difference in the competition on the markets. Oxyweld is well aware of this. The company manufactures hydrogen and oxygen gas generators for brazing, and for over 40 years, with the Oweld brand, has maintained a concrete commitment to innovation.

Diego Andreetta, Sales Director at Oxyweld

The latest milestone achieved, in chronological order, is the new brazing station, the result of the company’s R&D activity. Oxyweld undertook intensive research with the goal of reaching high standards of reliability. «The new Oweld 3-in-1 brazing station – explains Diego Andreetta, Sales Director at Oxyweld – is the result of about two years of research and development, including the industrialization phase. During this period, our technicians and some loyal customers tested it in the field, under real-world conditions on mass production lines. This allowed us to make some modifications to the product until we achieved a high level of reliability».

The brazing station is a solution capable of guaranteeing performance, safety, and ease of use. «When we design new products or update existing ones – continues Andreetta – we always ensure they are easy to use and reliable in all conditions and latitudes. Our products, even though they are niche devices, reach the entire world, and in order to protect our reputation, we cannot accept dissatisfied customers. It is an ongoing challenge, but this philosophy has always paid off over time, and we will continue to adopt it in the future as well. Thanks to this new brazing workstation concept, users will see significant improvements in safety and operator comfort. Our company’s innovative spirit, combined with a forward-looking vision and customer-oriented development, has enabled us to establish an excellent reputation throughout the brazing industry. We prioritize component quality and reliability. That’s why every item we design undergoes numerous field tests before market release. What makes our products unique is their high reliability and long service life, because one thing Oxyweld does not want is a thriving repair and spare parts business».

The Oweld brazing station is engineered to eliminate human variables in manual brazing. Instead of relying on the operator’s eye, it uses electronics to guarantee a flame with a perfect stoichiometric ratio at every lighting

A “smart” solution

The new Oweld brazing station can be defined as a “smart” solution thanks to its technical features. The device was designed to standardize brazing operations, ensuring greater precision. This is made possible by the electronics integrated into the product. «The Oweld brazing station – emphasizes Diego Andreetta – is engineered to eliminate human variables in manual brazing. Instead of relying on the operator’s eye, it uses electronics to guarantee a flame with a perfect stoichiometric ratio at every lighting, thereby standardizing the brazing process and drastically reducing human error. This ensures that every joint receives the same heat input, regardless of the operator on duty. Furthermore, the flame, being concentrated, drastically reduces the heat transfer during the envelopment and does not damage the insulating material».

Another key strength of the product is the automatic flame lighting/shutdown system, which offers the advantage of ensuring significant gas savings over time. Equally important is the issue of safety. This is an aspect to which the company has paid particular attention. «The new brazing station – explains Diego Andreetta – is equipped with an electronic flashback arrestor, invented and developed by Oxyweld. This system allows the operator to work in complete safety, even in the event of human error. Specifically, the technology works on two fronts: it stops the flashback and the production of gas».

Finally, another aspect makes this product “smart”: its ease of use, which does not require a long training period for the operator. “Our brazing station – says Diego Andreetta – is extremely easy to use. Employee training also benefits from this, as there is a drastic reduction in learning time. Since the flame is pre-mixed, new operators require much less training to achieve professional quality standards”.

Three key features in a single product

Oxyweld has designed its new brazing station as a 3-in-1 product, combining three key features in a single device: in addition to the automatic flame on/off control and the electronic flashback arrestor already mentioned, the brazing station is also equipped with an electronic pressure regulator. All this in compact dimensions. “The Oweld 3-in-1 brazing station – notes Diego Andreetta – is a compact device that is positioned next to the brazer through its height-adjustable stand. It allows the flame to be turned on and off in complete safety without the need for open pilot flames or other manual methods». Besides, the flame lighting turret is mobile: it can be moved from its base within a 1.5-meter radius and fixed in a more comfortable position for the operator or for specific production needs. The adjustable-height stand ranges from 54 to 83 cm (21.2 to 32.6 in), with a 40 x 40 cm (15.7 x 15.7 in) base. As regards to the electronically controlled pressure, it is accurate to hundredths of a bar and ensures a steady flame, without fluctuations. Finally, the new brazing station is compatible with all Oweld gas generators, and in cases of centralized gas distribution, the distance from the generator is not a limiting factor.

In addition to focusing on product quality, Oxyweld has also taken maintenance and service into account. «The Oweld 3-in-1 brazing station – says Diego Andreetta – does not require specific periodic maintenance, and after-sales support is guaranteed by trained local service centers in each of the 70 countries where we operate. Furthermore, spare parts are always in stock, and we ensure lifetime repairability».

The product is already available in all regions where the company is active and can be applied in various sectors. «We primarily serve – concludes Diego Andreetta – the electric motor, transformer, and HVAC-R industries, as well as all other sectors where the brazing process is required».

Innovative and clean technology

Oxyweld has been an Italian manufacturer of oxy-hydrogen gas generators for brazing since 1981. The technology allows to produce clean combustible gas onsite from water’s oxygen and hydrogen. This system offers significant advantages in joint quality and workplace safety. With over 8000 global installations, Oxyweld serves small- to medium-sized companies as well as major OEMs.

Oxyweld, with its Oweld brand, will be exhibiting at Coiltech 2026, taking place in Pordenone, Italy, on 23–24 September. The event brings together global suppliers, manufacturers, and innovators from the transformer and electric motor industries.

At Booth 6-A17, Oxyweld will showcase its latest oxy-hydrogen gas generators through live demonstrations of brazing applications involving copper, aluminium, wire, flat wire, cable and busbars.

Brazing specialists of the company will be available to discuss equipment, processes, and complete manufacturing strategies tailored to your production requirements.
