3D Systems and Precision Resource, a leading manufacturer of critical components for the automotive, heavy truck, aerospace and medical device industries, have formed a strategic partnership aimed at catalyzing metal additive manufacturing applications in high-criticality markets. The combination of the two companies’ deep application expertise with 3D Systems’ direct metal printing platform will enable a faster path to market for applications in high-criticality industries. As part of this agreement, Precision Resource will purchase two DMP Flex 350 Dual 3D printers from 3D Systems to be incorporated into the production workflow at the Huntington Beach, Calif. facility.
Expansion of precision metal forming processes
The integration of 3D Systems’ industry-leading DMP technology into Precision Resource’s production value processes, complemented by 5-axis machining centers and advanced inspection systems, will expand the portfolio of precision metal forming processes, offering new solutions to meet evolving market needs. 3D Systems’ DMP Flex 350 platform is designed for use in flexible applications from application development to mass production. Quickly replaceable build modules and rapid powder recycling help speed up production; a central server manages print jobs, materials, settings and maintenance in order to facilitate 24/7 productivity. The printer also features 3DXpert software, which assists with every step of the additive manufacturing workflow, from design to post-processing to fast and efficient transition from a 3D model to successfully printed parts.
