Nautilus has unveiled its latest high-efficiency electric propulsion system for leisure boats, targeting a sustainable revolution in marine mobility. The innovative kit, suitable for both new and retrofitted vessels, promises significant advancements in efficiency, compactness, and environmental impact.

Nautilus’s electric propulsion system replaces traditional diesel engines and fuel tanks with a highly efficient electric motor that is both compact and lightweight, cooled directly by seawater for optimized thermal management. The build leverages high-quality materials: copper windings for improved conductivity, high-strength magnets for the rotor, and strategic use of aluminum and titanium to ensure reduced weight without compromising durability.

The system, available in power ratings from 20 kW to 90 kW, allows for versatile integration across various types of leisure craft, from smaller pleasure boats to larger retrofitted vessels. Its modularity supports a wide spectrum of use cases in both new builds and upgrades of traditional combustion-engine boats, aligning with growing regulatory and market demand for zero-emission solutions.

Presented as a pilot project at Genoa, the Nautilus kit stands out for its focus on sustainability, offering emission reduction and lower maintenance due to the absence of complex mechanical parts typical of combustion engines. The seawater cooling system further distinguishes the design, supporting high-efficiency, continuous operation even in demanding marine environments
