During a recent open house, Fausto Rinaudo – Managing Director at NIDE Wintech – and his team of experts showed us the latest new solutions, the results achieved by the Italian subsidiary and the future goals still to be reached.

«At NIDE Wintech, we provide localized service, that is responsive to the specific needs of European industries. From rapid after-sales support to the availability of premium spare parts, consulting, trial tests and pre-series production, we ensure our customers a minimal disruption to their operations».

«Moreover – Rinaudo continues – our tailored training programs empower European businesses with the latest advancements in electric motor technology, keeping them ahead in an increasingly competitive market. Our expert consultants collaborate closely with our customers, offering customized solutions to optimize industrial processes and drive efficiency».

«We have numerous projects in the pipeline» Fausto Rinaudo says, «but we are currently receiving many requests from the home appliances industry, where demand for brushless motors, BLDC, is growing».

Designed for BLDC motor stators

During the company tour, Fausto Rinaudo showed us two “flagship” machines among the wide range available: a four stations needle winding machine and a soldering & testing machine.

The four stations needle winding machine Model ND-4RX003is a multi-station winding system specifically designed for BLDC motor stators. «A traverse gripper automatically picks up four stators simultaneously and positions them onto the winding tool, ensuring high throughput and production efficiency», Rinaudo says.

The winding station integrates multiple functions, including thread clamping, thread cutting, and thread-end collection. The thread nozzle is capable of guiding the wire both upward and downward through the stator end plate, ensuring precise placement.

«The winding speed is adjustable up to 600 rpm, depending on the wire diameter, while an electronic tensioner provides accurate control of wire tension throughout the winding process, guaranteeing consistent coil quality», Rinaudo underlines. Once winding is completed, the clamping jaws automatically transfer the four finished stators from the winding tool to the unloading tray, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow with minimal operator intervention.

The machine has been designed to allow future upgrades, such as automatic loading and unloading, as well as integration into a fully automated production line.

Features of the 4-stations winding machine ND-4RX003

The four stations needle winding machine Model ND-4RX003 is specifically designed for BLDC motor stators, currently a growing market
  • It is equipped with a servo control system, diagnoses fault, counts the output, and else.
  • The other function such as auto winding, multi-diameter wires winding, auto-indexing, autoskip slot, and winding speed could be programmed.
  • The machine is easy to operate and maintain.
  • With a mechanism that crosses the wire on both sides.
  • Stations: 4
  • For multi-pole stator winding, manual loading, and unloading, automatic clamping, winding, and shearing.
  • The frame adopts thickened 4080 aluminum profile, and the table plate adopts cast iron to absorb vibration, even when winding at high speed, the vibration is very small.
  • Tooling and fixture parts adopt downward positioning mode, stable positioning, and reliable tightening.
  • Wire clamping and wire cutting, line part structure compact, wire clamping, and wire cutting is completed at one time.
  • Different stator and winding parameters can be quickly switched through the HMI to adapt to different stator requirements.
  • Quick change-over of tooling.
  • Full aluminum alloy protection.
  • SIEMENS PLC motion module control (programmable controller), fault display.
  • SIEMENS MMI touch screen for operations instruction guidance.
  • This machine adopts safety door switch protection.
  • CE Standard.
  • Remote diagnostics function and INDUSTRY 4.0 package as option.

A fully automated soldering & testing machine

Tailor-made according to the customer’s request, the ND-JXJC004 machine is designedfor selective soldering of stator winding pins, featuring a fully automated process carried out on a multi-station rotary table.

The cycle begins with the loading of the stator, followed by a three-dimensional inspection performed by the Keyence XT-060 structured-light camera. This system precisely measures the height and position of the terminals, checking their verticality and detecting any floating copper wires, with a measuring range of ±6 mm and a positional tolerance of up to ±0.05 mm. Once inspection is completed, the process moves to the fluxing station, where flux is applied with high accuracy to ensure optimal wettability and enhance solder joint quality.

Soldering & testing machine ND-JXJC004; an advanced electronic control system manages intelligent temperature regulation, alarm monitoring, and both manual and automatic operating modes

«The core of the process is the selective wave soldering stage, performed with a high-resistance titanium solder pot capable of maintaining temperatures up to 600 °C. To minimize oxidation, the system can operate under a nitrogen atmosphere, while the solder jet, driven by a servo motor, guarantees stability and repeatability throughout the operation», Rinaudo declares.

After soldering, a two-dimensional inspection is carried out using the Keyence CA-H500C 5-megapixel color camera. By means of advanced image analysis tools such as color binarization, blob tool, and line tool, the system verifies solder presence, measures diameter and area, and ensures full compliance with process parameters.

Several auxiliary systems support the machine’s operation. A fume extraction unit with a triple-filter design (cotton, medium efficiency, and activated carbon) provides up to 99.97% filtering efficiency, ensuring protection for both the operator and the environment. «An advanced electronic control system manages intelligent temperature regulation, alarm monitoring, and both manual and automatic operating modes.

Thanks to these features, the ND-JXJC004 ensures consistent and repeatable soldering quality, reinforced by the dual Keyence vision system that enables complete pre-and post-soldering inspection», Rinaudo ends. The use of a nitrogen atmosphere combined with efficient fume extraction further guarantees a cleaner and safer process. These advantages make the machine particularly suitable for mass production, where high reliability and full traceability are essential requirements.

The machine has been designed to allow future upgrades, such as automatic loading and unloading, as well as integration into a fully automated production line.
