SKF has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Tangier, Morocco, with a focus on producing components for magnetic bearings and high-speed electric motors. Initially employing around 60 people, this new site will allow SKF to deliver modular and scalable solutions that are easily integrated into a wide range of applications. Magnetic bearings, which enable contactless rotor levitation through a controlled magnetic field, are essential for machines that operate at high speeds and demand high levels of efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance.

Their ability to function without friction or lubrication makes them particularly suited for demanding environments such as industrial compressors, turbines, advanced electric motors, HVAC systems, and even the semiconductor industry. Magnetic bearing, by virtually eliminating mechanical friction and the need for lubrication, improve energy efficiency and extend the life cycle of critical equipment.
