Entries for the CWIEME Awards 2026 are open until 13 April, inviting engineers, researchers, and organisations from across the electrification industry to showcase their most innovative work.
After a four‑year break, CWIEME Berlin – the trade show that celebrates electrical engineering – is relaunching its renowned CWIEME Awards, honouring individuals, teams, and companies driving progress in design, production, and innovation across the electrical engineering industry.
The award ceremony will take place on 21 May 2026 at the Central Grid within Messe Berlin, bringing together leading engineers, manufacturers, researchers, and stakeholders from the global supply chain. It will highlight outstanding contributions in electric motor design, magnetic components, insulation systems, and advanced industrial applications that underpin the next wave of electrification.
Four categories shaping the industry’s evolution
The 2026 Awards feature four categories, each addressing a key driver of the sector’s transformation: talent, sustainability, innovation, and technical leadership.
Future Engineers, sponsored by Hitachi Energy, celebrates the upcoming generation of electrical engineers. Open to students, graduates, and research teams, the award recognises projects that demonstrate creativity, technical relevance, and industry potential. The winner will receive a six‑month internship at Hitachi Energy, along with branded prizes for second and third place.
The Sustainability and Leadership Award acknowledges companies and individuals implementing tangible progress in sustainability across product design, manufacturing, and supply chain processes, setting new industrial benchmarks.
Product of the Year honours innovations that successfully translate technical excellence from concept to real‑world application, demonstrating measurable performance and market impact.
Engineer of the Year will be awarded to a professional who has delivered outstanding engineering achievements through exceptional design skills, creative problem‑solving, and successful execution of a complex project.
Innovation as a driver of progress
The return of the CWIEME Awards coincides with the 30th anniversary of the exhibition, underlining its commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the global electrification ecosystem. As Melissa Magestro, Portfolio Director of CWIEME, explains: “Celebrating these achievements not only recognises excellence, but also inspires innovation and collective progress as the industry continues to evolve toward a more electric and sustainable future.”
Entries are open until 13 April 2026, inviting engineers, researchers, and organisations to showcase their most impactful solutions. Once again, CWIEME Berlin positions itself as a benchmark event where the engineering community meets to define the technologies and ideas that will power the world’s next era of electrification.
